Jen Bladon, BSc. PT, FCAMPT, RYT 300, ISM Practitioner, CIDN
Registered Physiotherapist

Jen’s physiotherapy practice is broad and inclusive of a variety of settings.  A physiotherapist at Southlake Regional Health Centre for 16 years in outpatient orthopaedics, Jen now primarily focuses on working with shoulder conditions at Southlake, including the post surgical patients.  Working with Dr. Randle, an orthopaedic surgeon with a highly specialized shoulder practice, she assists in the post surgical shoulder clinic as well as assessing and treating patients directly.  As an Advanced Care Physiotherapist working with Dr. Randle, Jen has gained immense experience in this patient population.

Jen provides private physiotherapy consultations and follow up treatment for patients presenting with a variety of conditions. Focused on determining the “driver” of the patient’s main complaint and meaningful task (ISM derived approach), Jen offers a thorough examination with care to ensure the patient’s story and goals from treatment are prioritized. Treatment tools include manual and manipulative therapy, soft tissue work, dry needling, as well as education and exercise that empower the patient with the support and skills needed for recovery.

More recently, Jen has completed specialized training in women’s pelvic health physiotherapy. Having first hand experience of persistent pelvic pain and dysfunction as an athlete and then during pregnancy and post-partum, Jen now has a complete skill set in assessing and treating the pelvis. Pain during pregnancy and post-partum, stress and urge urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and associated low back/hip pain from pelvic floor dysfunction are some of the conditions Jen treats. This includes the ability to provide internal pelvic examination and treatment, which is often critical to accurately determine the root cause of the patient’s complaint.

Better Than Fit: Physiotherapy, Fitness, and Yoga was founded in order to bridge rehabilitation to fitness, as simply pursuing the “goal of fitness” ignores so many aspects necessary for overall health and wellness. This concept grounds our workshops, corporate services, consultations, and our small group classes (bootcamp, TRX suspension training, and yoga) that continue to evolve eight years later.

To Jen, “better than fit” implies more than physical fitness, but creating the most optimal way of moving and living in your body, plus finding freedom from pain and dysfunction.
